Adobe is still updating Adobe Reader XI (and Adobe Acrobat XI) and the corresponding plugin (version 11.0.11.18) but the plugin checker now considers the new Adobe Reader DC and its later-versioned plugin to be the 'current' version. As long as you are using the latest according to the Help menu > Check for Updates from within Adobe Reader XI (or Adobe Acrobat XI), then you can trust that and ignore the plugin checker site.

Or you could get the new Reader DC, but I suggest waiting a bit until the bugs settle out.

If Acrobat X or Reader X is installed alongside an older version of Acrobat or Reader, removing the older version removes the AdobePDFViewer plug-in.
